Our Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) shapes the way we experience our lives. This system acts mostly unconsciously and regulates bodily functions, such as heart rate, digestion, respiratory rate, etc. It serves to inform and protect us but sometimes it continues to react to previous experiences rather than responding to what is happening in the present moment.
